We raise ONLY CHOW CHOW dogs and have been doing so for over 25 years now. To us it has been a wonderful labor of love. All of our dogs as well as our kennel is registered with THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB (AKC) and we are on a very familiar basis with all our wonderful vets, Dr. Copeland, Dr.Barker, and Dr. Cottrell all of Copeland Vetinary Clinic, our reproductive expert Dr. Julia Adams, of Clone Tennessee and the various wonderful staff members of each.
Our Kennel is based not only on a love of the breed, but more importantly, on a very special love for each individual dog, and they are most definitly individuals! They each have distinct personalities, likes, dislikes etc. We raise them, care for them, play with them, and love them all the way from watching them take their first breaths in the handbuilt whelping boxes Ed crafted himself, up to the very end where we've stood by their sides to offer comfort and calm as they breathe their last. We have been given so many wonderful memories and puppy kisses in return, that no webpsite however extensive, could possibly do them justice. Even those dogs we've brought in from elsewhere, once they arrive at here at VALHALLA, they become part of "our" family.
We have recently started showing a few of our kids and that has been a lot of fun...but our main goal and reward in all of this is to breed good sound puppies that any family would be happy and proud to include into their lives.
Ed is now retired from Krogers and is enjoying a full time job as "The Dog Father"..
I (Sandy) being "much" younger of course (hehe) am still working as a chemist in Nashville, but since I work a rotating 12 hr shift (much like a nurse), I do have more time off to help and enjoy our furry kids...just ask my own two legged son..."yep, mom is dog crazy". I admit it.
